Kerbside recycling is to become compulsory in Swindon, the borough council has announced.
From the beginning of August, residents will be expected to put paper, cardboard, cans and glass in recycling boxes instead of black wheelie bins.
Households which repeatedly refuse to recycle, after repeated warnings, risk not having their waste wheelie bins collected.
Only 40% of what Swindon throws away is recycled and the authority wants to boost that to 60%.
Image source, Wiltshire PoliceTwo people in Swindon have been scammed out of thousands of pounds, after paying deposits to rent a house to someone who wasn't the owner.
The house in Ferndale Road was empty while being sold, but had been advertised on Gumtree as available to rent.
The two people paid £1,200 and £2,400 each to who they thought was the home owner, after viewing the house in April.
However, when they tried to move in, the actual owner of the house was there, who said it had been broken into and the locks changed.
Wiltshire Police has released photos of a man officers would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

It now mostly avoids Somerset - which could be good to avoid a soaked ground at Glastonbury ahead of the festival - and Bath, Bristol and most of Gloucestershire. But the warning encompasses most of Wiltshire.
It is active from now until 10am on Tuesday.
