Kerbside recycling is to become compulsory in Swindon, the borough council has announced.

From the beginning of August, residents will be expected to put paper, cardboard, cans and glass in recycling boxes instead of black wheelie bins.

Two people in Swindon have been scammed out of thousands of pounds, after paying deposits to rent a house to someone who wasn't the owner.

The house in Ferndale Road was empty while being sold, but had been advertised on Gumtree as available to rent.

The two people paid £1,200 and £2,400 each to who they thought was the home owner, after viewing the house in April.

However, when they tried to move in, the actual owner of the house was there, who said it had been broken into and the locks changed.

Wiltshire Police has released photos of a man officers would like to speak to in connection with the incident.
