    A dog "photobombed" his owner's birthday party picture.

    Sophie Bond from Tewkesbury was celebrating her 22nd birthday with work colleagues when golden retriever Alfie jumped into shot.

    She said her pet had been told to sit but "jumped up at the cameraman playfully" as the photo was taken to create the "funniest and perfectly timed photobomb".

    "Alfie loves to be involved with everything you do," she said.

    "So when we decided to take a picture, he kept trying to get our attention and wanting to be played with.

    "He is a beautiful and happy boy who constantly puts a smile on your face."

    Bristol's Pride celebrations begin in earnest today. Now in its 10th year, the two week-long programme of events will conclude with Pride Day on Saturday 13th July.

    Tonight there will be a flag raising at 5pm at City Hall to open the festival, and to mark 50 years since the Stonewall riots, widely seen as the birth of the LGBT+ campaign for equal rights.

    The cause of a fire which gutted a derelict pub in north Bristol last night remains a mystery.

    Firefighters were called to Gainsborough Square, Lockleaze, after reports of fire in the roof.

    Once the fire was put out an urban search-and-rescue dog was sent in to search the building along with a police victim recovery dog.

    An Avon Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said both dogs confirmed the building was clear and all persons were accounted for.

    Thousands of festival goers descended on Glastonbury's West Holts stage on Thursday, to watch England's quarter-final clash with Norway at the Women's World Cup.

    The match was shown on big screens after England midfielder Georgia Stanway tweeted a plea to the festival to show the game so her brother could see it.

    The Lionesses are one game away from a first Women's World Cup final appearance after beating Norway 3-0 in their quarter final.

    A group of residents in Avonmouth are threatening to withhold their council tax unless something is done to tackle fly infestations.

    Some say they've been plagued by swarms of them.

    One household has collected hundreds, while others have recorded them crawling on food in their kitchens. The problem is also affecting local businesses.

    Swarms also appeared during last summer's heatwave, but the cause was unclear.

    The MP for Bristol North West, Darren Jones is now calling for some of the waste processing facilities in Avonmouth to be closed or moved.
