A Nottingham woman has called for a ban on flashing Christmas lights being displayed outside homes as they can be dangerous for people with epilepsy.

Azza Booth, from Clifton, was diagnosed with the condition four years ago and says strobing lights can cause her to have a seizure.

The 22-year-old normally said she usually has one or two a month but has had eight since the start of December.

She's now urging people to be more considerate of people with epilepsy when choosing their outdoor decorations.

She said: "I understand they look pretty but when it's putting another person's health at risk I don't think it's worth it.

"I know there are no EU regulations regarding how fast the speed of a light flashing can be. I believe that should change as it's putting too many people at risk."
