The East Midlands, including Lincolnshire, has been ranked as one of the worst areas in the country when it comes to the number of GPs per head of population.

Dr Kieran Sharrock, who represents GPs in the county, says the public don't always help the situation:

    Quote Message

If there were more clinicians, doctors and nurses then we'd be able see everyone who thought they might need to be seen... but the NHS is there to provide services for people who need to be seen not who want to be seen. There are lots of people who think they are unwell - but if they left it a few days they would get better."

Dr Kieran Sharrock, Chairman of the Lincolnshire Medical Committee

NHS England says it's working to recruit and retain more GPs and specialist health workers.
