Jennifer Rose, 78, from Sutterton, died after the Suzuki Wagon she was driving was involved in a collision with a Ford Focus driven by Ricky Lee Nicholls in Sutterton on 25 August last year.
William Marriott was also seriously injured in the same incident.
Appearing at Lincoln Crown Court, Nicholls, 42, of London Road, Wyberton, pleaded guilty to causing the death of Ms Rose by dangerous driving.
He also admitted causing serious injury to Mr Marriott.
Sentencing was adjourned until 5 August and an interim driving ban was imposed on Nicholls, who was granted bail until the hearing.
More than 580 homes were evacuated after heavy rains led to the River Steeping bursting its banks.
Read MoreWork is ongoing to move heavy machinery on to the bank of the River Steeping near Wainfleet in a bid to help repair the breach which caused major flooding in the town last week.
Ch Insp Phil Vickers from Lincolnshire Police said engineers were surveying the ground and looking at what support they will need in getting the machinery on to the bank.
Sandbags and ballast dropped by RAF Chinook helicopters were only ever a temporary measure and a permanent repair is needed, Ch Insp Vickers said.
The RAF is offering assistance and the intention is to get people back into their homes as soon as possible, he added.
The repairs should be in place by Monday, it's thought.
Quote MessageThere were real concerns about the weakness of the river bank, I’m really pleased the survey this morning identified the damage to the river bank was only superficial so it’s relatively secure, but getting that heavy equipment on there is going to take a little while."
Ch Insp Phil Vickers, Lincolnshire Police
A man has been seriously injured in a crash on the A16 at Cowbit.
Emergency services were called at about 06:00 this morning following the collision between the Applegreen roundabout and Cowbit roundabout which involved a Ford Focus and an HGV
One man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Police are appealing for witnesses, particularly those with dash-cam footage.
People evacuated from their homes in flood-hit Wainfleet will not be able to return to their homes until Monday at the earliest, emergency planners have confirmed.
About 600 people were told to leave the area last week and despite water levels falling, planners say it's still not safe to return until more permanent repairs to a breach in the River Steeping have been completed.
They say emergency services will help people return home only to pick up essential items.
A public meeting is due to place in Coronation Hall in Wainfleet on Thursday evening to discuss the situation.
A weather warning is in place for more heavy rain and thunderstorms today.
Quote MessageWe know it's hugely frustrating for those local residents and so we're looking to get them back to their houses as soon as we can. But at this stage we can't guarantee that safety and so the evacuation warning remains in place."
Ch Insp Phil Vickers, Lincolnshire Police
The 10th anniversary of the reopening of the Lincolnshire Light Railway in Skegness will be celebrated in style next month, it's been announced.
To mark the occasion, an iced "cake" - which is actually a piece of old railway sleeper - will be fed into the historic Jurassic steam locomotive at the Walls Lane Station.
It has been decorated by Horncastle student Millie Waby, 18, who enjoys baking and icing cakes – but not usually ones made of wood for railway engines.
Children who were born on 3 May 2009, when the railway reopened after a period in storage and a move from its original site at Humberston, near Cleethorpes, will be able to travel for free.
Those who have an original ticket for travel from that day, or from 1960 to 1985, can also travel for free.
During those years, the line operated from a bus terminus in Humberston to the local beach and the Fitties holiday camp.
It was the first railway in the world to be built by railway enthusiasts on a greenfield site.
The 10th anniversary open day will be held on 13 July.
Jet skiers who were filmed racing up to seals on a Lincolnshire sandbank have been branded "idiots" by locals.
Specialist wildlife officers from Lincolnshire Police are understood to be investigating the incident, which happened at Gibraltar Point, near Skegness, on Sunday.
The jet skiers were caught on video by Liam Andrews, who was bird watching at the time.
Quote MessageThey shot out to the sandbank and tried to scare off as many seals as they could - they just kept riding up down and waving their arms and eventually landed on sandbank. Stayed there, chatted for 20 minutes before doing the same on the way back. It was frustrating not being able to do anything. It's just a shame these people show such disrespect for the wildlife.

Students in Lincolnshire put their culinary skills to the test at a pop-up restaurant run by Danny Gill, a Great British Menu finalist and owner of Brown’s Pie Shop in Lincoln.
Year 10 food and technology students at North Kesteven Academy had their classroom turned into a fully functioning kitchen.
Former pupil Danny worked with the students who prepped and cooked a three-course meal from a selected menu which they later served to their friends and family in the school’s canteen.
The students are all preparing for their GCSE in Food Preparation and Nutrition.
Quote MessageA big part of the pop-up is educating students on food provenance and where the food that they prepare comes from. As well as learning many practical skills such as portioning a chicken, filleting a fish, sauce making and plate presentation, there will be a focus around teamwork. Students will also get an insight into how to be cost-effective by using one ingredient such as chicken to make more than one meal."
Kimberley Allen, Teacher of technology at the academy
A new appeal has been made to identify three violent burglars who left a Scunthorpe man with life-changing injuries.
The 42-year-old was attacked and robbed in Stockshill Road at just after 20:00 on 16 April last year.
Detectives at Humberside Police say they've carried out extensive inquiries and made a number of arrests in connection with the case, but no-one has yet been charged.
Det Insp Kerry Bull said six arrests had already been made and it's believed the attackers may have links to Lincoln and, potentially, to Devon and Cornwall.
Quote MessageThis was a particularly nasty assault and while these kind of incidents are rare, we know the impact they can have on victims and the wider community, which is why we are determined to do all we can to find those responsible. Someone out there knows who these men are and I want to appeal for those who do to get in touch.”
Det Insp Kerry Bull, Humberside Police
Thousands of people are expected to flock to the Lincolnshire Showground today for the opening day of the Lincolnshire Show.
This year's event, in Lincoln, will feature more than 600 trade stands and 2,500 animals will be judged over the next two days, organisers say. There will also be special celebrations to mark the 150th anniversary of the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society.
Quote MessageI look forward to every show, but it's 150 years of the Agricultural Society and it's 60 years since the show was first held at the Lincolnshire Showground, so they are two big marks for us."
Jane Southall, Show organiser

The RSPCA is on stand-by to help animals in flood-hit Wainfleet as more rain is expected later.
A team of water rescue officers are in the area to help people and their pets in need, according to the animal charity.
It's advising owners to move pets, horses and farm animals to a place of safety and not to put themselves in danger trying to rescue them.
Meanwhile, Lincolnshire Police said there had been much less rainfall than expected and river levels are slowly dropping.
However, a weather warning remains in place for the area.
A man and a woman have been arrested after a "significant" amount of drugs were seized at a house in Scunthorpe.
Officers executed a warrant at the house on Frodingham Road on Tuesday after being tipped-off by the public about suspected drugs crime.
Both have been released under investigation while inquiries continue, according to Humberside Police.
PC Graham McNally has urged people to continue to report issues.
Quote MessageYesterday's warrant enabled us to take a quantity of suspected class A and class B drugs off the streets of Scunthorpe. This is another example where the public have told us about an issue in their community and we have taken action to address it, helping to make the area safer."
PC Graham McNally, Humberside Police
Four people have been arrested after the body of a man was found at a property in Sleaford.
Officers were called to London Road at about 11:45 last Sunday after a report of a concern for safety.
Lincolnshire Police said it was treating the death as unexplained while it carries out investigations.
Three men were arrested on Monday and a woman was arrested yesterday in connection with the death. All have been released on bail.

Emergency planners in Lincolnshire say residents in parts of the county still need to be prepared as heavy rain and more possible flooding is expected.
Thunderstorms which were forecast for overnight didn't materialise but there's still a weather warning in place for heavy downpours today.
Assistant Police Chief Constable Shaun West says they're expecting more challenging weather conditions.
It follows almost a week of rain and flooding disruption for people in the county - particularly in the Wainfleet area.
The Environment Agency have said there hasn't been a second breach of the River Steeping following reports of a crack forming next to the initial breach. They say it's just superficial erosion and are monitoring the area closely.
The water pumps are still operating in Wainfleet but so far the area has only seen light rain overnight:
