Anthony Madine, 20, of Cradge Bank, Spalding, and Junior Titilawo, 25, of Aspen Green, Huntingdon, appeared via video-link at Lincoln Crown Court earlier.
Both deny the attempted murder of 24-year-old Liam Heffernan and possession of a prohibited firearm.
They were remanded in custody and are due to stand trial on 1 September.
The National Trust said the reserve would provide a home for breeding and migratory birds.

Deputy Ch Con Jason Harwin has told the BBC his officers broke up several gatherings of up to 15 people over the weekend - some including young children.
He said that said when questioned many of the adults knew about the restrictions but didn't care.
"We will be taking action against a number of individuals and the important bit is that the message has got to get through. No one is exempt.
"Importantly, if you don't follow the advice there will be consequences," he warned.
The latest figures from NHS England show there have been no new deaths from coronavirus in Lincolnshire.
Prior to today, 24 people have died in the county after testing positive for Covid-19, with the last fatalities reported yesterday.
United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) said two women, aged 55 and 82, and a man aged 76 had died. A spokesperson for the trust said all three had underlying health conditions.
It comes as two testing facilities for NHS workers are being set up in Lincoln and Boston.
Andrew Morgan, the chief executive of ULHT, says they should be up and running this week.
He said 525 members of staff are currently off work as a result of the pandemic.
The total number of deaths at North Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust stands at 12.
Police investigating an alleged assault on an 85-year-old woman in a North East Lincolnshire village want a passer-by who stopped to help to come forward.
The alleged assault took place on Haile Road in Humberston at about 18:00 on 10 March and involved an elderly woman and a group of teenage boys.
One of the boys is believed to have pushed the woman, causing her to fall over.
She was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries and remains in a stable condition.
A 13-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with assault.
Officers say a woman - or possibly two women - stopped to help the victim and gave first aid and provided blankets.
Humberside Police is asking them to come forward.
A six-foot long snake has been found dead inside a cardboard box in Grimsby.
The reptile was found by a member of the public in Newmarket Street on 3 April and reported to North East Lincolnshire Council’s street cleansing team.
A council spokesperson said it is not known how long the snake had been there but it is likely it was a household pet that had died and been dumped by its owner.
The family-run business in Lincolnshire had been closed due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The company says it's working hard to keep taps running and toilets flushing - but there are some people who are trying to take advantage of the current situation.
Spokeswoman Regan Harris says people should watch out for fraudsters referring to the "water board", which hasn't existed for 30 years.
Ms Harris says Anglian Water staff always carry ID and are usually in a marked van.
"We do sometimes see increases of bogus callers and, unfortunately, coronavirus has highlighted a few instances of that with us," she says.
"The really important thing is to remember our engineers will only contact you face-to-face if it's an emergency at the moment."
Police are appealing for information after three men wearing hoodies broke into a Lincolnshire football club.
The men forced their way in to Pinchbeck United FC's clubhouse causing considerable damage before stealing about alcohol worth about £100.
The break-in happened between 04:00 and 04:30 on 26 March.
Lincolnshire Police say they believe it may be connected to another break-in on the same night at an address in nearby Knight Street, where more than tools worth more than £1,400 were taken.

Farmers have been warned that there could be a shortage of parts for the machinery they use due to the coronavirus crisis.
Many of the spare parts for agricultural machinery are sourced from China and India, which have both been affected by the pandemic.
Andrew Beckingham, of farming co-operative Labour Machinery Resources, based in Gainsborough, said they were monitoring the situation.
He said: "There might be an issue with wearing parts, some stock could well be short, there is a red flag on that one."
A man who told a police officer he had coronavirus before deliberately breathing in their face has been jailed for three months.
Luke Courtney, 29, was arrested at an address in Fosdyke, near Boston, in the early hours of Friday by officers investigating reports of a man breaching the peace.
The force said after being taken into custody he told an officer that he had Covid-19 before deliberately breathing in the officer’s face.
Courtney, of Snaith Avenue, Fosdyke, appeared via video link at Lincoln Magistrates' Court on Saturday where he pleaded guilty to a charge of assaulting an emergency worker.
He was jailed and ordered to pay £122 towards the costs of the case.

Emergency services were called to a Johnson's Garden Centre on the A52 Wainfleet Road near Boston at about 11.30 on Sunday after a blaze broke out at the rear of the property.
The centre was already closed due to the Covid-19 restrictions but the food store at the site has continued to operate.
In a statement on the company's Facebook page the owners said said no-one was hurt and the animals inside were also unharmed.
It later added, external that the Food Hall would reopen today.
