    Gediminas Vaitkus, 43, was discovered injured on Red Lion Street in Boston at about 18:15 BST on 28 July and died on Sunday, police said.

    An 18-year-old man appeared before magistrates in the town on Thursday charged with grievous bodily harm.

    Argos has confirmed that one of its Lincolnshire branches will close.

    The store on Guildhall Street in Grantham will close in November as part of the company's plans to shut up to 70 outlets.

    The firm says staff will be given the chance to move to other stores across the county.

    An Argos spokesperson said: “Last September we announced a review of our estate, which included plans to close 60-70 standalone Argos stores and we have now updated colleagues on our plans to close the Guildhall Street store in November. Customers can continue to shop with us in nearby Sainsbury’s and Argos stores.”

    A "vile" rapist who attacked a woman in a Grimsby street has been jailed for more than 10 years.

    Henry Froggatt, 25, attacked his victim in March 2019 in Railway Street, grabbing her from behind before pushing her to the floor and assaulting her in what police described as an "horrific attack"

    The 25-year-old, of Grimsby Road, Cleethorpes, was jailed after he pleaded guilty to charges of rape and assault causing actual bodily harm.

    He was sentenced at Grimsby Crown Court to 10 years and 10 months, with an additional four years on licence.

    Det Sgt Jayne Horsfall said: “Froggatt committed an abhorrent and despicable act, putting the victim through a horrific attack and untold torment, causing her to fear for her life for his own perverse sexual gratification.

    “His actions are those of a vile rapist, he gave absolutely no thought or consideration to the detrimental effect he would have on his victim, and I am reassured that he is now off our streets and unable to commit further offences.

    “I would like to praise the victim for her bravery throughout this investigation. She has shown real strength and courage and I hope that today’s sentencing allows her to feel that some sense of justice has been achieved."

    Hays Travel, which has branches in Lincoln, Grantham, Spalding, Stamford, Grimsby and Skegness, took on more than 2,000 former Thomas Cook employees when it went bust in October last year.

    Owners John and Irene Hays said the change in rules for Spain had led to the cancellation of hundreds of thousands of holidays.

    They said employees will lose their jobs "through no fault of their own".

    A seven-year-old boy has raised more than £700 for charity after walking from Waddington to the Humber Bridge.

    Freddie Crombie has been trekking along the Viking Way to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association, after his grandmother died from the disease, and his Scout group.

    His mum, Amanda, says his Nan would be proud.

    "She always liked to be busy and had lots of friends. She would be very proud of Freddie and pleased that we've done this in memory of her and raising money for a good cause," she said.

    Flights from Humberside Airport to Amsterdam have restarted following the relaxing of coronavirus restrictions.

    KLM is offering a reduced service of six flights a week to Schiphol airport, with the first one arriving just before midday today.

    The airport has remained open during lockdown for medical and offshore connections and says its is looking forward to resuming other flights for business and holiday travellers.

    People flying from Humberside Airport are asked to wear face coverings when in the terminal building and social distancing should be observed where possible.

    Humberside Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was seriously sexually assaulted in Grimsby.

    Det Insp Ian Wright said: “The victim is being supported by specially trained officers, and I want to offer my reassurance to the public that we are treating this incident as a priority.

    “Neighbourhood officers are patrolling the area and are available should anyone want to speak to them.

    “We believe the suspect to be a white man aged between 19 and 23-years-old, of a stocky build with dark hair and wearing a grey tracksuit."

    Anyone who witnessed the attack or recognises the man from the description is asked to contact the force.

    Remote farms in Lincolnshire have been targeted by thieves in a spate of incidents.

    Lincolnshire Police says offenders have gone out of their way to reach rural buildings and property in several cases, which include vandalism, trespass and burglary.

    Since March this year, the force has received several reports of incidents including ducks released from an outbuilding onto a field, graffiti to a village butchers shop, and an unknown male in chicken sheds at a rural farm.

    Farmers and landowners are being urged to make sure their property is secure.

    Ch Insp Phil Vickers said: “We are investigating all possible lines of enquiry to find out who was involved in these incidents.

    “In the meantime, I would like to advise all farmers to check their security measures such as outside lighting, CCTV and to carry out physical checks of their outbuildings, particularly overnight, and to report any suspicious activity.”

    The collision happened at about 06:20 this morning at the Clock Tower roundabout.

    Lincolnshire Police say the cyclist, a man in his 60’s, was taken to hospital by air ambulance after suffering potentially life-changing injuries.

    Officers want to hear from any witnesses who may have seen what happened.

    Diners across the UK will be able to enjoy half-price meals throughout August from today, as part of a government scheme aimed at boosting restaurants and pubs post-lockdown.

    "Eat out to help out" applies to eat-in food and drink on Monday to Wednesdays at more than 72,000 venues.

    The discount is capped at £10 per person and does not apply to alcohol.

    Nic Till who runs Riverhead Coffee in Grimsby said he hoped the scheme would encourage people back into cafes and restaurants.

    He said: "There's a lot of people who are concerned about money at the moment and maybe going out and not spending.

    Police investigating the death of a 21-year-old man whose body was found at a property in Skellingthorpe say they are no longer treating the incident as suspicious.

    The man's body was found at an address in Waterloo Lane in the early hours of Friday morning.

    Lincolnshire Police said his death was initially being treated as unexplained but now say they are no longer treating it as suspicious.

    The force said two men, aged 54 and 48, and a 27-year-old woman who were arrested at the scene have been released with no further action.

    Scunthorpe United are investigating "disgusting" social media comments about forward Olufela Olomola.

    The 22-year-old shared a screen shot on Twitter of a Facebook post made on one of the club's supporters' pages referencing the colour of his skin.

    The post has been removed and condemned by fans, with United saying they "will deal with those responsible".

    "We stand with Olufela Olomola and anybody who has to suffer racism in any shape or form," the club said.

    The post did not mention Olomola by name but referenced the colour of his skin when discussing if he should be given a chance with the Iron after spending last season on loan with Carlisle.
