A crematorium and memorial gardens along the Viking Way near Horncastle has been given the go-ahead.
The proposals were submitted by Jonathan Crossley for the bulding off Horncastle Road in Martin
The 16-acre site will include a chapel, a new pond and a picnic site for users of the Viking Way and Spa Trails, which runs between Woodhall Spa and Horncastle.
Planning officers said there was evidence of a need for an additional crematorium within the district and that the site was an acceptable location.
The central part would contain the chapel, a covered walkway, an entrance lobby and offices. Between the offices and covered walkway would be a courtyard flower garden.
Objectors had raised concerns about the safety of the B1191 with a “blind bend” nearby.
There were also concerns over a conflict between potential funerals and the tourism aspect of the Viking Way through that area.

Det Pete Grayson said: "One of our big aims is increasing diversity.
"I'm not a big fan of setting targets because I think there's always a risk of trying to set a percentage figure and then when you reach that then you feel like your work is done.
"And that is not the case. One of our ambitions is to broadly increase diversity and make us a more reflective work force of our community."

The building is planned for the former Horncastle Residential College off Mareham Road and will be shared with Boston College.
Councillor Helen Matthews said: “It’s long overdue for improvement and renovation, and I think it will bring ELDC more into the 21st century in that offer, a more economically viable building, it will add to the economy. There are more plus points than negatives.”
But Councillor Terry Aldridge told the Local Democracy Reporting Service: “It’s an absolute waste of money when we’re in such dire straights and with what’s coming. This is a very bad decision and in years to come people will look upon what I’ve said and say yeah, you were right.”
Council leaders have said the project will be cost neutral due to the sale and redevelopment of both Skegness Town Hall and Tedder Hall, in Manby.

Read MoreLincoln Performing Arts Centre will not reopen until spring 2021 at the earliest because of the pandemic, it's been announced.
All events currently on sale will be either postponed or cancelled, and customers will be contacted to arrange exchanges or refunds.
Artistic director Craig Morrow said: “It's a heartbreaking decision but one that has become increasingly inevitable as we struggle to reconcile our business with the ongoing impact of COVID-19. LPAC is entirely reliant on ticket sales and traded income to cover the cost of its operations and it is simply not possible to deliver the same scale of activity this year with social distancing in place."
He said it doesn't mean that centre will be mothballed, and that there are plans to offer an alternative pop-up programme of events and activities inside the venue, around the city, and online.
A re-imagined Christmas show called A Distant Christmas will take audiences around the city and will hopefully merge Augmented Reality technology with live performance.
A man tried to evade arrest by giving police his brother's details, despite having his own name tattooed on his body.
Humberside Police took to Twitter to share the man's efforts to avoid capture.
The force said: "Unless you’re an identical twin, giving your brothers details to convince us you’re not wanted won’t work, especially when your name is tattooed on you."

The man who killed British backpacker Grace Millane in New Zealand has begun an appeal against his murder conviction and sentence.
The 28-year-old, who cannot be named, was jailed for at least 17 years after a jury found him guilty of murdering Ms Millane in an Auckland hotel in 2018.
After her death he hid her body in a suitcase and buried her in bushland.
At his trial last year, the killer claimed University of Lincoln graduate Ms Millane, who was last seen on the night before her 22nd birthday, had died accidentally, after the pair engaged in rough sex that went too far.
But a jury in November rejected that argument and found him guilty of murder.
New Zealand media outlet Stuff said the appeal was based around how much emphasis was placed on the element of consent, expert evidence, probability, and the negative evidence given by other women about his character.
