New drive-through testing facilities to be set up
Up to 10 million key workers and their households can now book a coronavirus test online or through their employer.
The move allows all essential workers in England to register for tests on the government's website, if they or a family member have virus symptoms.
Health Secretary Matt Hancock said the expanded testing programme was "part of getting Britain back on her feet".
As part of the effort The East of England Arena in Peterborough is to be converted into a drive-through testing facility.
The showground will be one of more than 30 sites operating across Britain.
Max says thank you to police
Two Essex police officers attended an address in Southend to meet young fan Max.
He wanted to hand over a card he had made for them, so PCSOs Brook and Reynolds happily obliged.
The force said Max wanted to thank them for all its hard work, as he wants to be a police officer when he grows up and "work in Southend".
Mum's thanks hospital for getting premature baby home
A mother of a baby boy, born seven weeks early, has taken the time to write to the Rosie Hospital in Cambridge to thank the staff for helping keep her little boy safe and getting him home.
He had to "spend a short time in NICU [neo-natal intensive care unit] where he received fantastic care", she said.
The mother was unable to visit the unit due to coronavirus restrictions.
"With the visiting restrictions, it was difficult to leave him, but, knowng he was surrounded by such loving people made it bearable," she added.

We should always try to look on the (Mr) Brightside of life, so with that in mind, Somebody Told Me that The Killers have set a new date for a concert that was due to take place at Norwich City Football Club this summer.
The US band will now perform at Carrow Road on 2 June, 2021, instead of 1 June this year.
All tickets purchased for the concert will remain valid for the rearranged date, the club said.
Ben Kensell, chief operating officer, said: "It’ll be an exciting and much-anticipated appearance and hopefully something that all those who have purchased tickets for can look forward to."
The band also had stadium concerts scheduled in Falkirk, Middlesbrough, Coventry, Doncaster, Manchester, Southampton, Bristol and London.
Sewing 'super-heroes' needed to make scrubs
A team of "sewing super-heroes" is needed to stitch hospital scrubs, to ensure doctors and nurses do not run out, a hospital is pleading.
Addenbrooke's Hospital and the Rosie maternity unit in Cambridge want to try to "bolster" their supplies.
Dr Liam Brennan, deputy medical director for Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said: "We, like many other hospitals up and down the country, have reached a point where we are calling on volunteers.
"We think it is prudent to take advantage of the generous offers of help received, and we are grateful to the 'For the Love of Scrubs' community who have created very specific instructions on what is required, so all that is made can be fully utilised."
All the instructions on what material is needed as well as sizes and fabric, is on its website.
Fountains turn blue in support of NHS
To show its support for the NHS, carers and all key workers, the Broadway Gardens fountain in Letchworth, Herfordshire has been turned blue.
It colourisation has been carried out by North Herfordshire District Council.
East comes together to Clap For Carers
For the fifth week in a row, people across the country have opened their windows and gone to their front doors to celebrate carers and key workers.
Many emergency services congregate by hospitals to show their appreciation.

Coronavirus deaths rise in the East

The latest figures for the number of Covid-19 deaths in the East of England has been released by the government.
In the BBC East region, statistics for the NHS hospital trusts show a rise of 101 deaths in total, up from the previous day's figure of 80.
The total number of deaths at the region's hospitals is now 2,144.
The total number of coronavirus-related UK deaths in hospitals is 18,738.
