As well as the damp weather, riders are having to cope with windier conditions than in previous stages.
At Thornham Magna, just before the A140 crossing - the gap for the leaders remained at about 2mins 10 seconds.

Stage Six of the Tour of Britain, external may be under way, and in Aldeburgh, where the stage finishes just after 15:00, final preparations are being carried out.
Two years ago on the Women's Tour, Lizzie Armitstead crashed into photographers, having crossed the finish line on Aldeburgh seafront at Market Cross Place.
The finish of today's race is on the town's High Street, which is much wider at set back, parallel to the seafront and prom.

Competitors in Tour looking for team car back-up alreadypublished at 11:07 British Summer Time 8 September 2017
Our reporter Kate Arkell is in one of the official cars at the head of Stage Six of the Tour of Britain, external.
The official start of the race has been declared in Exning... in the rain.
She says: "Lots of calls on race radio for team cars to go to the peloton - we suspect there'll be plenty of calls for adding and removing layers of clothing today."
