CCTV images have been released in the hunt for a man who is alleged to have entered a supermarket brandishing a weapon and demanding money from staff.

The man made off with around £200 from the Co-op in Beatty Road, Eastbourne, just before 23:00 BST on Friday, Sussex Police said.

He was described as white, about 5ft10in and of athletic build. He had a distinctive tattoo on the right hand side of his neck.

His right hand was partially covered and he was holding an object – possibly a chisel – in a threatening manner, Sussex Police added.
