The athletes in the Great North Run wheelchair race are on their way.
David Weir is back after winning his seventh men's wheelchair title last year.
Poland's Martyna Snopek will also seek to add a second successive title, although she could face a stiff challenge from British former champion Shelly Woods.

Here he is at the start line a little while ago with his wife Tania, who is also running.
He is using today's half marathon as preparation in his bid to retain his Chicago Marathon title on 13 October.

The Great North Run is the biggest running event in the UK.
About 57,000 runners have registered to be at the start line in Newcastle, before they race over the Tyne Bridge, through Gateshead and finish in South Shields.
Many of the runners wear fancy dress and raise money for charity.
There will also be live music and huge crowds along the route. You can read more about the memorable moments here.
