  1. Lumiere looks for new light artworks for Durham festival

The organisers of Lumiere, a light festival due to take place in Durham in November, are looking for new ideas for artworks.

Artichoke, which produces the event, has launched a commissioning scheme worth £50,000 to find six artists to design and create new installations.

Three of the commissions will be reserved for people who are based in the North East.

The Lumiere festival will be held in Durham from 18 to 21 November. In past years it has attracted more than a million visitors.
