    A large moon exhibit is hanging in the nave of Durham Cathedral.

    The art installation called Museum of the Moon was created by British artist Luke Jerram and measures 23ft (7m) in diameter.

    It's lit from within, and illuminates the high-vaulted ceiling and the cathedral's carved pillars.

    The exhibit, which is touring the UK, features detailed Nasa imagery of the lunar landscape with each centimetre representing three miles (5km) of the moon's surface.

    Canon Dorothy Snowball said: "The moon can be something bigger and beyond what we can imagine, but having a moon that's so tangible and close to us here in the cathedral is like you can almost reach out and touch it."

    It is open to visitors until 11 November.
