A 23-year-old man who was trapped in an overturned car in Gateshead has died in hospital.
Northumbria Police was called to the upturned Renault Megane on the Lobley Hill footbridge over the A1 at about 04:00 on Saturday.
Officers are investigating how the crash happened and are asking for any witnesses, especially those with dashcam footage to contact them.

PC Marc Lennox, from Northumbria Police’s motor patrols department, said: “This is an incredibly tragic incident and our thoughts go out to the man’s family and friends at this time.
“We also ask that the family’s privacy is respected as they attempt to come to terms with what has happened."
The family of the man who died are being supported by specialist officers.
