    Beasts of No Nation, a film about a West African warlord training an orphan as a child soldier, had its UK premiere at the BFI London Film Festival.

  4. Niger beat Somalia in World Cup qualifierspublished at 15:43

    Niger have beaten Somalia 2-0 in a 2018 football World Cup qualifying match.

    Moussa Maazou scored twice in the second-half to seal the win for Niger in a game that was played in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa. 

    Maazou, who now plays in China, scored in the 58th minute and then from the penalty spot just four minutes later. 

    The two meet in the second leg of the tie next Tuesday – with the overall winners advancing to face Cameroon in the next round in November.

    The BBC reporter in Burundi's capital, Bujumbura, said that he's heard heavy gunfire in the centre of the city.

    A reporter for Radio France Internationale tweets (In French) that "according to witnesses, at least 4 dead in the attack on a branch of the commercial bank of Burundi".

  6. Nobel winner: Prize makes me proudpublished at 14:15

    The head of the Tunisian employers union, which was one of the four Tunisian groups to have won the Nobel Peace Prize this year, has said that the prize has made her proud.

    The Quartet for National Dialogue won for helping in the transition to democracy.

    Ouided Bouchamaoui said the prize "means that the Tunisian experience is very important [as] we succeeded with dialogue, and we did what others failed to do."
