The Bishop of Dover has announced he is to retire,
The Right Reverend Trevor Willmott,
Bishop of Dover and Bishop in Canterbury, is to step down in May 2019, ending his public ministry in a service at Canterbury Cathedral.
The bishop has been in the role since 2010 and took on responsibility for the Channel Islands in 2014.
The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, said: "Bishop Trevor has worked hard
to foster a culture of generous hospitality to our partners from around the
world.”

The government's proposals will see at least 200 jobs removed, and will apparently save £10m per year.
In an open letter, the States of Guernsey's Chief Executive Paul Whitfield said "the constraints of the current structure" meant planned changes could not be reached.

Chamber 'totally supports' civil service cuts

Guernsey's Chamber of Commerce has said it "totally supports" plans to cut an eighth of the island's civil service jobs.
The government's proposals will see at least 200 jobs removed, and will apparently save £10m per year.

In a tweet, the Chamber of Commerce said it "totally supports" the "streamlining of civil service" to remove "over-complicated procedures".
