Guernsey's Havelet Slipway bore the brunt of Friday's strong wind and waves, with the structure suffering "considerable" damage, Guernsey Harbours said.

The slipway is now closed to the public, with States staff assessing the damage.

Guernsey’s Harbourmaster Captain David Barker said: “This was a short sharp storm, with gusts up to Force Ten.

Of the 13 tested, three have had their water quality categorised as poor; Pembroke, Petit Bot and Cobo.

Director of Environmental Health and Pollution Regulation, Tobin Cook, says they're continuing investigations.
