A stray bearded dragon has been found near Saumarez Park in Guernsey.
The GSPCA said it was the second dragon found in the area.
"The adult bearded dragon would have been unlikely to survive if it hadn’t been
found, as they originate from Australia and need a warm climate to live," a spokesman said.
Staff have named him Scott and he now joins Debbie, the first bearded dragon found near Saumarez Lane.
GSPCA Manager, Steve Byrne, said the charity had "dozens" in its care, and many "were in need of a home".
Changes needed in Jersey's laws around children

Young people who leave the care system in Jersey could have more rights under proposed new laws.
Children's Minister, Senator Sam Mezec, says he wants to make children's welfare a priority.
The new laws define the government as "a corporate parent" which looks after children in its care.
Senator Mezec said the reforms demonstrated the States' commitment to putting young people first.

Gatwick open to Aurigny flights

Aurigny flights will be flying to Gatwick Airport from Friday afternoon, the airline has said.

A spokeswoman said beginning with flight GR606, the rest of the services for Friday would be as normal.
However, passengers have been warned there may still be delays as air traffic control at Gatwick deal with the aftermath of issues on Wednesday and Thursday.
Drones caused the airport to shut down.
The drone operator is still at large and police said it was possible they were an environmental activist.
The airport is expected to be "back to normal" by the end of Saturday.
Firefighters tackle blaze at Alderney power station

Firefighters have tackled a blaze at the AEL Power Station in Alderney.
Crews were called at about 21:00 on Thursday to a fire in one of the electricity load banks.
Alderney Voluntary Fire Brigade arrived on the scene to find staff using extinguishers to tackle the contained fire within the unit.
They were also emptying road fuel bowsers nearby.
The Airport Fire Service was placed on standby at the airport to assist the town's brigade if extra crews and appliances were required.
The fire was put out after about 45 minutes. The cause is not yet known.
States want new retail staff on customer service courses

Jersey retailers should send all new staff on customer service courses to help the island develop a reputation of having excellent service.
That's one of the recommendations of a group of politicians who looked into how to improve the retail sector in the island.
The Economic Affairs Scrutiny Panel - which reviews policy and legislation related to the topics of financial services, economic affairs and economic development - made 29 recommendations in all.
These also included the government investing in more footfall cameras, and investigating new measures to improve the convenience and cost of parking in town.

Jersey woman feels 'cheated' after missing out on pension

A Jersey woman who missed out on £6,500 worth of her pension says she'll keep fighting to get her money back.
Elaine Huggett looked at the States website to find out whether she was eligible for her pension at the age of 60 - but its pension calculator told her it was 65.
Two years later, she discovered she was one of 410 women she believes could have claimed their pension at the age of 60.
The States of Jersey Complaints Board has now ruled she can not be refunded the money she had failed to claim.
Ms Huggett says despite the ruling she will keep trying....

The States said the Customer and Local Services department is committed to communicating clearly with customers and regrets the confusion that has occurred in this specific case.
It added it "states clearly" on the government website how and when people can claim their pensions.
Free wi-fi made available on Guernsey buses

CT Plus has made free wi-fi available on its entire fleet of buses across Guernsey.
The addition was made this week and will cost £50 per vehicle, per month.
Twelve of the fleet's vehicles had been operating with wi-fi over the last few months on a trial basis - which saw more than 2,000 connect.
Mike Fawkner-Corbett - Head of Product at Guernsey's telecommunications company, Sure - said the newly-installed wi-fi service will be especially beneficial to tourists.
But the introduction of the service has attracted a mixed reception on the island...

Jersey's £17m new substation successfully 'switched on'

Jersey Electricity's new £17m primary substation, St Helier West, (SHW) is now successfully delivering power to homes and businesses in and around town.
The facility, which has been almost 10 years in the planning and building, was "energised" last week and, after being left "on soak" for 24 hours, engineers completed the switching work which joined SHW to the existing network and brought it into operation.
The 10,000 sq ft steeply sloping site at Westmount was a former coastal quarry requiring extensive ground investigations throughout 2015 before complex civil works could begin.
These involved the removal of 27,000 tonnes of material - including 5,000 tonnes of rock - piling to support the building slab and the erection of a new retaining wall to protect the facility.

Plans for housing overlooking St Aubin's Bay revealed

Property development firm, Dandara wants to build 16 two-bedroom flats and a seven-bedroom home on Tower Road in St Helier.
It's revealed new plans for the site overlooking St Aubin's Bay - after an initial, bigger application was rejected last month.
If the new scheme gets planning approval, a property called Claremont House will be demolished to make way for the development.

Aurigny: Gatwick flights diverted to Southampton

Aurigny are diverting flights to London Gatwick to Southampton to try to keep customers moving this Christmas.
"Widespread disruption" is expected to continue throughout Friday at Guernsey Airport after drones caused major delays in London.

"Given the widespread continued disruption, Aurigny has made the right decision to run the first three Gatwick rotations today in and out of Southampton to keep our customers moving," a spokeswoman said.
"This means the GR600, GR601, GR602, GR603, GR604 and GR605 will be going as close to their scheduled departure time as possible and operating in and out of Southampton.
"We have issued customers returning to the island on those flights with new flight details and would advise people to check-in online to avoid delays in Southampton as resources are tight at the airport."
Gatwick airport reopens after drone chaos

Officials at Gatwick have re-opened the runway and say they hope to operate a limited number of flights on Friday morning.
The airport was disrupted by repeated sightings of a drone on Wednesday night and throughout Thursday.
It is continuing to advise passengers to check the status of their flight with their airline before travelling to Gatwick.

This is because departures and arrivals are still subject to delays and cancellations.
Many passengers throughout the Channel Island's were affected by the closure.
Police are still attempting to identify the drone's operators and are considering shooting it down if necessary.
