    Police in Jersey are looking for a black Ford - believed to be an older style Fiesta or Ka - with "significant damage" to its front after the driver failed to stop following a collision on Saturday.

    Officers said a silver Citreon Picaso was heading towards town on the inner road when it was hit by the black car exiting La Rue du Galet, near to the Mont Felard Pub, at about 09:30.

    The Citroen driver, a 58-year-old man, was taken to hospital with minor injuries and was released a short time later.

    The Ford driver is described as a woman in her 40s, of medium build, with light-coloured hair.

    Anyone who saw this incident or knows anyone who may have black Ford that has recent damage to the front is asked to contact police on 612612 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their Anonymous Online Form, external.

    There's a call for the new forms which entitle European Union people to stay in Jersey after Brexit, external to be made available in churches and other places - and not just online.

    The Government of Jersey launched the scheme today saying the form can be completed in just four minutes.

    Antonia Colino, from Portugal, has lived in Jersey for 50 years, believes the forms and the information about the scheme need to be more widely available as not everyone has a computer or knows how to use one.

    The online forms are available in English, French, Polish, Portuguese and Romanian.

    A call to limit the price of renting a home in Jersey could be debated in the States Assembly, after more than 5,000 people signed an online petition.

    It's the first time a petition has reached the threshold required for members to "consider" discussing it in the chamber, although there would be no binding vote at the end of the talks and members could choose not to discuss it.

    The petition calls for rents to represent about 30% of people's salaries.

    In a written response when it reached 1,000 signatures in September last year, the Housing Minister said the government must focus on improving the standard of living for all islanders - including making housing more affordable.

    Guernsey States-owned airline Aurigny says branding on its new aircraft will promote the island as much as possible.

    In December, the island's government agreed to underwrite a multi-million pound loan to enable the airline to buy three new ATR aircraft, with fog busting technology.

    Jess Mauger, from the company, said the aircraft tails would be painted with the Guernsey flag.

    "We're working with the States of Guernsey to ensure the Guernsey brand and the Guernsey name is on the back of the livery," she said.

    Guernsey FC lost back-to-back games for the first time in two months as they went down 3-0 at Isthmian League Division One South East leaders Cray Wanderers.

    Three goals in an 11-minute spell leading up to half time saw off the Green Lions.

    The loss leaves Tony Vance's side still in 16th place in the division ahead of Sunday's home game with Sevenoaks Town.

    Jersey's civil servants and public workers took to the streets on Saturday in their fight for higher wages.

    About 500 people joined the march through St Helier to show their unhappiness over their latest pay offer.

    Jersey's government is currently negotiating with three different unions over public pay.

    Union leaders said a pay offer by the island's government was "insulting" and consistently below the rate of inflation.

    The States has argued that the island has to make £30m of savings and there was no more money for bigger pay rises.

    People from other European countries living in Jersey can now apply for settled status to stay in the island after Brexit, with the launch of the EU Settlement Scheme.

    The scheme, external will remain open until the end of next year and the States of Jersey said it estimated about 20,000 would need to apply.

    Luke Goddard, acting director of immigration and nationality, said the application was as simple as the government could make it, with guidance notes issued in all EU languages.

    "On the test schemes that we've run, the quickest that someone's managed to complete the form has been four minutes," he said.
