BBC News OnlineFollowing the decision of the BBC Board to remove blanket free TV licences for over-75s in the UK, a spokesman for the BBC has said that they will "explore the implications with the Crown Dependencies".
Jersey currently subsidises the TV licences of the over-75s, while Guernsey pays for the over-65s on a means-tested basis.
No change to this system has been announced by the BBC or Channel Islands governments.

BBC Radio JerseyMore than a third of all Jersey secondary school students who were excluded in the 2017-2018 academic year were from one school.
Figures from a freedom of information report show that students were sent away from school more than 670 times, 270 of which were from Le Rocquier.
Across the island, the most likely reason for a student to be excluded was for abuse or threatening behaviour towards adults.

BBC News OnlineThe States Employment Board (SEB) has revised the final pay offer from 4 June to address union concerns.
The bulk of the offer remains the same including consolidated salary increases of 2.0% in 2018 and 2019, as well as two unconsolidated cash payments of 1.1% and 1% in either year.
However, the key difference is the offer for 2020, which would match inflation (assumed at 3.1%) in addition to a 2.1% consolidated pay rise, 0.8% of which is to be funded by "reforms and sustainable efficiencies".
The previous offer had proposed that the increase would be a guaranteed 1.3%, to be topped up with half of whatever savings could be made in the education budget.
The unions will now consider the updated offer.

BBC Radio GuernseyThe closure of the Lower Canichers in Guernsey has been delayed until Wednesday.
The road, next to the Swan Pub, had been scheduled to close from Monday morning until March 2020 to allow work for a derelict building behind the pub to be demolished and redeveloped.
However, it is used by businesses close to the site for unloading and deliveries, and is a popular route for taxi drivers to get to and from the rank.
It is now due to be shut from Wednesday instead.

BBC Radio GuernseyBoats from a memorial flotilla that have been in France to commemorate the D-Day anniversary will be on display to the public later near the Crown Pier.
The boats have been part of events in England and France and have now stopped in St Peter Port before heading back to Portsmouth.
The flotilla has been shown off in Portsmouth's historic dockyard, at Pegasus Bridge near Caen and in Cherbourg for the D-Day commemorations which marked 75 years since the landings last week.
The vessels will be available for public viewing from 10:00 until 16:30.

She'll attend a meeting at the showground in Trinity.
Princess Anne will also launch a healthy eating week for schools at Jersey College for Girls in her role of patron of the British Nutrition Foundation.

BBC News OnlineThree people were taken to hospital after a two-car crash in Guernsey.
It happened on the Rue D'Albecq in Castel at about 13:20 on Saturday.
A woman from one of the cars was treated for a suspected neck injury at the scene and taken to the emergency department at Princess Elizabeth Hospital.
Two others - who had been in the second car - were examined by emergency ambulance staff and also taken to hospital.

BBC Radio JerseyTeachers in Jersey will vote on Monday evening on whether to accept a new pay offer from the States.
It follows weeks of walkouts, which meant some Jersey pupils were only at school for seven days in May.
The deal will be reviewed at a meeting at the Freedom Church in St Helier at 19:00.
