    BBC Radio Jersey

Police in Jersey are asking parents to check their children's phones for footage of a fight involving about 40 young people.

Officers said they were called to the incident as in Howard Davis Park just after 16:00 on Friday after reports of a "large group of school children" fighting in the park. Many were thought the children to be about 15 years old.

They added that someone who went to break it up was assaulted.

While no-one needed medical treatment, it has been claimed that one boy left the park with a significant amount of blood on the back of his white shirt.

Police also said they believed some of the young people filmed the fight on mobile phones and shared it on social media platforms such as Snapchat.

  13. Planning policies action plan will be 'cost-effective'published at 08:06 British Summer Time 17 June 2019

    Simon Fairclough
    Guernsey Political Reporter

The Development and Planning Authority (DPA) has released its action plan on changes to Guernsey's planning policies.

The DPA says it lays out a clear direction for addressing a wide range of issues and not only that concerns raised by the public and politicians will be addressed, but how it also contains innovative ways to empower the community in the process.

It claims the plan is designed in a way that is proportionate and cost-effective.

Some of the issues covered include the development of brownfield versus greenfield sites and affordable housing.

The authority says while most of the actions in the plan are able to be undertaken within current resources this year, the Policy and Resources Committee has been advised of the possible need for further resources for 2020.
