The Minister for Infrastructure has agreed a 3.4% increase in taxi and cab tariffs.
Deputy Kevin Lewis reviews taxi and cab tariffs each year with reference to the Retail Price Index - which is calculated independently by Statistics Jersey to reflect the costs of commercial motoring.
Once the increase comes into effect, the new tariffs will be:
- Tariff One - Monday to Saturday, 07:00 - 23:00: £3.06 plus 23p for every 10th of a mile
- Tariff Two - Monday to Saturday, 23:00 - 07:00, all day Sunday and public holidays: £3.16 plus 33p for every 10th of a mile
- Tariff Three - Christmas Eve and Boxing Day, 19:00 - 07:00 and from 19:00 on New Year’s Eve until 07:00 on 2 January: £5.42 plus 36p for every 10th of a mile
The changes mean that a standard daytime journey from a St Helier rank to the airport will typically rise from £13.13 to about £13.64.
