Patients who find they are no longer able to access the drug are being advised to speak to their GP who will to help look at alternative courses of treatment.

The drug is used to replace oestrogen the body stops producing during the menopause and is used by women to help relieve some of the symptoms.

The Committee for Health and Social Care said a major supplier of the drug was experiencing low stocks.

It has been an ongoing issue over the past few months and is affecting patients in the UK and Europe, as well as the Bailiwick.
