    The US leader will see the deputy attorney general in person on Thursday after his visit to the UN General Assembly in New York, the White House says, but they already had an "extended conversation" on Monday.

    The two men discussed "recent news stories", Ms Sanders said.

    "Because the President is at the United Nations General Assembly and has a full schedule with leaders from around the world, they will meet on Thursday when the President returns to Washington, DC," she explained.
