Iron-curtain consumables

In the decades after World War Two it wasn't only Western society that welcomed an increasing supply of consumer goods, Soviet families did too - and they were sometimes able to buy colourful, quirky and modern designs.

Some are on show in a new exhibition at London's Gallery for Russian Arts and Design. Take a look with curators Alexandra Chiriac and Elena Sudakova.

Work and Play Behind the Iron Curtain can be seen at the Gallery for Russian Arts and Design (GRAD), London, until 24 August 2014.
