As a Yemeni living in London, people often ask me: what's actually going on there?
The problem is, there's no simple answer. There's been vicious fighting going on in Yemen for some time now. On 26 March, neighbouring Saudi Arabia launched air strikes.
The first phase of their military campaign officially ended earlier this week. But the Saudi-led coalition soon resumed air strikes on Yemen's third city of Taez. On the other side of the country in the south, brutal fighting continues.
The problem with this struggle is that it's not a clear-cut, black-and-white sort of conflict. There are multiple layers and numerous sides involved for all different reasons.
