Parental leave - San Francisco v rest of world

As any mother or father will tell you, having children is wonderful but it's not cheap.

Now San Francisco is taking steps to try to relieve some of the financial strain on new parents.

The city has become the first in the US to approve six-weeks of paid parental leave for full-time workers. It is not a lot by the standards of other Western countries, but it's a lot more than parents get at the moment.
