Tinie Tempah to play 1Xtra Live

Tinie Tempah is the first act to be confirmed for this year's BBC Radio 1Xtra Live.

The free ticketed event will be held on Saturday 25 September at London's Wembley Arena.

This will be the third year running for the UK's biggest free urban music event, which started off in 2008 in Coventry.

Previous years have seen performances from the likes of Akon, Kelly Rowland, Sugababes, Dizzee Rascal, Estelle, Jay Sean, Tinchy Stryder, Chipmunk and JLS.

The full line-up of US and UK artists are still to be announced.

Tinie Tempah's first UK headline tour kicks off in October, with dates in Cardiff, London, Liverpool and Oxford.
