Beyoncé has denied she is pregnant, but says she does want a family

Pop star Beyoncé has denied she is pregnant, but says she "eventually" wants to have a family.

Earlier this year the 26-year-old announced she was taking time off from her career, leading to speculation that she is expecting a child with husband Jay-Z.

Speaking to The Daily Mail Beyoncé said: "My ambition is to continue to learn about the world and to eventually have a family."

The singer and actress added there were, "no dates, no times - it will happen when I am ready."

In January, the Single Ladies singer confirmed she would take time off from her busy schedule "to recharge my batteries".

"I'd like to take about six months and not go into the studio. I need to just live life, to be inspired by things again," she said.

She spent 2009 touring the world in support of her most recent album 2008's I Am…Sasha Fierce.

Beyoncé and partner Jay-Z have been married since April 2008. Last year the pair were named as Hollywood's top earning couple by Forbes magazine.
