Tim Westwood is asking listeners on his BBC Radio 1Xtra afternoon show whether he should take a place on Dancing On Ice.
The DJ also posted the question on his Twitter account, external asking followers if he should accept the offer.
He wrote: "Been offered £50,000 to go on... Could you see me wearing sequinned outfits! Should I do it?
"It's a maximum of 12 Sundays with some extra training & it's a straight £50k, even if I sprain a muscle & pull out."
He continued later: "I need to know. Are you saying yes for my benefit or so you can have a cruel cheap laugh at my expense?
"What time does Baywater rink shut tonite? I've neva been on Ice before - need to try it out....
"But why is everyone sayin I should do it! I'd have to dance on ice with a woman who looks like a man in drag."
On his BBC Radio 1Xtra show on Monday (16 August) he said producers wanted an answer by "the end of next week".
He also revealed to listeners that he'd previously been offered places on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! and BBC One's Strictly Come Dancing.
Dancing on Ice, now in its fifth year, couples celebrities with professional figure skaters who have to perform in front of a panel of judges.
The ITV1 show is presented by Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby and was won this year by former Emmerdale actress Hayley Tamaddon.
Other previous contestants include Duncan James from Blue, Hollyoaks actor Chris Fountain and 2006 X Factor runner-up Ray Quinn.
In January, Tim Westwood said he'd been invited to take part in the final series of Celebrity Big Brother.
He told followers on Twitter: "Just been asked to go on CBB! Should I ask for time off from the radio?"
The DJ eventually missed out on appearing in the Channel 4 series.
