Linkin Park are the latest headliner to be announced for next summer's Download Festival.

They join System Of A Down, Avenged Sevenfold and Rob Zombie at the event held at Derbyshire's Donington Park between 10-12 June 2011.

Meanwhile, Biffy Clyro will play one of their biggest headlining slots to date with an appearance at travelling metal festival Sonisphere.

The band will play their set on Saturday 9 July.

Biffy Clyro finished their UK tour at Wembley Arena last Saturday (4 December) in support of their fifth studio album, Only Revolutions, and were nominated for the Mercury Prize this year.

Slipknot have already been confirmed as one of the other headliners at Sonisphere, held at Knebworth.

It is one of their first performances since the death of bassist Paul Gray earlier this year.

Tickets for Sonisphere go on sale this Friday (10 December).
