Jessie J is topping the official midweek chart with Price Tag

Jessie J has topped the UK's official midweek singles chart with her track Price Tag featuring B.o.B.

Price Tag is the first track to benefit from record label Universal's decision to put songs on sale the same time as they are played on radio.

The song was simultaneously released to radio and retail on Sunday 30 January.

Martin Talbot, managing director of the Official Charts Company said: "She is showing that On Air, On Sale is just what the consumer wants."

He added: "There has been a lot of discussion about On Air, On Sale over recent weeks but for the first time we can see what impact it can have.

Last month Universal and Sony announced they would be implementing this new way of releasing music.

The other two of the so-called big four labels, Warner and EMI, have not yet changed their systems.

Essex singer J, who's real name is Jessie Cornish, has two tracks in the top 10 as her debut Do It Like A Dude is at number seven, according to the Official Charts Company.

Bruno Mars' Grenade is at number two with last week's number one Ke$ha slipping to three.

Elsewhere, Adele's second album 21 is number one in the official album chart, having topped the pile last week.

Chase & Status' new album No More Idols, a new entry, is at number two.

Listen to Greg James present the official midweek chart update every Wednesday at 3.30pm
