The Killers will headline London's Hyde Park in June

The Killers are to headline this summer's Hard Rock Calling festival at London's Hyde Park.

The Las Vegas band will top the bill at the event on Friday 24 June.

Following a year long break, which saw lead singer Brandon Flowers release his solo album Flamingo, the foursome have now reconvened.

"It's been too long, friends... Feels like forever since we've seen each other and now it's time we pay a visit," said drummer Ronnie Vannucci.

In a statement announcing the show he added: "Have to get the machine oiled and ready to make this kinda thing happen more often. Feeling creative, let's do this."

Tickets for the gig go on sale on Thursday 21 April.
