Emma Bunton has given birth to her second child, a boy named Tate

Former Spice Girl Emma Bunton has announced the birth of her second child in a post on her Twitter page.

The singer, who is 35, tweeted: "Our beautiful son Tate has arrived safe and sound! We are all so happy and excited. Thanks and love to you all. Xx."

Bunton, who first found fame as Baby Spice, gave birth to her first son Beau in August 2007.

The new baby is her second child with long-term partner Jade Jones, who sang in the boyband Damage.

The Spice Girls had nine number one singles before splitting up in 2000.

Bunton then released a series of solo albums but in recent years she has focussed on TV and radio work.

She was a judge on Dancing On Ice in 2010 and reached the semi-finals of Strictly Come Dancing in 2006.
