Coachella festival to be held over two weekends in 2012

America's Coachella music festival will be held over two weekends from next year.
Organisers say the 2012 event will again be held in Indio, California, but will take place over two weekends on 13-16 April and 20-22 April.
The separate events are expected to feature the same line-up.
This year's three-day festival included headliners such as Kanye West, The Kings of Leon and Arcade Fire plus British acts like Tinie Tempah.
A statement from the organisers said: "We know many of you were unable to attend this year's festival because passes sold out much sooner than anticipated.
Coachella Festival takes place 130 miles (209km) east of Los Angeles
"We were truly surprised by the overwhelming response and remain honoured by your passion and enthusiasm.
"We also know some of you purchased through non legitimate sources and were inconvenienced, gouged or totally scammed.
"We hope that these changes will give everyone the opportunity to purchase directly from Coachella."
Passes go on advance sale between 3-10 June.
Organisers say the price of three-day passes is staying at $269 (£164) plus fees for the sixth consecutive year.
Around 90,000 places will be available for each weekend.
Other British acts who played this year's festival included Marina and the Diamonds, The Chemical Brothers, Cage the Elephant, Elbow, Mumford & Sons, Eliza Doolittle, Ellie Goulding, Leftfield, Chase & Status and Plan B.
Muse headlined the festival in 2010.
It was first held in 1999 as a two-day event headlined by Beck, Tool and Rage Against the Machine.
