Ellie Goulding performed at Lounge On The Farm festival in Merton Farm, Canterbury on Saturday night.

The singer said she was "excited" to return to Canterbury, where she had studied drama at The University of Kent.

Also playing were Example, The Streets, Katy B and The Vaccines.

The Streets lead singer, Mike Skinner, performed OMG for one of the last times after announcing earlier this year that he's to stop recording with the group.

He tried to encourage the crowd to rename the festival Lunge On The Farm and admitted he'd tried every one of the food stalls telling the crowd "burritos are the best".

He is also due to become a father later this year.

'Big names'

Example performed Watch The Sun Come Up to a pink sunset and Katy B had the crowd singing along to On A Mission.

On Friday night Annie Mac DJ-ed to a big crowd in the cowshed while 100 or more cows were moved to fields nearby.

Graham Coxon bought a selection of 10 electric guitars for his Saturday night performance where he headlined the Meadows stage.

Visiting Canterbury for the first time were The Joy Formidable, who played their current single A Heavy Abacus and Whirring.

In true rock tradition lead singer Ritsy Bryan kicked over a drum and smashed her guitar on the floor before throwing the audience stage props.

The festival has been running for six years and has grown from 1,000 to 10,000 people in that time.

Emma Maton, 24 from Chestfield, Kent said: "It's great to have these big names in Canterbury. Everyone looks forward to Lounge all year round."
