Red Hot Chili Peppers have announced a nine-date UK tour for this autumn.

The band will begin a three-night stint at London's O2 Arena on 7 November before playing gigs in Glasgow, Manchester, Sheffield and Birmingham.

The group bring out their 10th studio album, I'm With You, in August after the release of double record Stadium Arcadium in 2006.

Lead single The Adventures Of Rain Dance Maggie had its first airplay on Radio 1 last week.

Speaking to Radio 1's Zane Lowe last week, bassist Flea said he wasn't bothered after their new single was leaked online.

"The only thing that I would ever worry about would be if I was lazy or I didn't really take my time in the songwriting process to make the music as good as I thought it could be," he said.

"That's the only thing I ever fret about because I do have a lazy streak. Anything that happens once the music is done, come what may."

Fool's Gold will be the opening act on all Red Hot Chili Peppers UK dates.

The tour dates are as follows:

London, O2 - 7 November

London, O2 - 9

London, O2 - 10

Glasgow, SECC Hall 4 - 12

Manchester Evening News Arena - 14

Manchester Evening News Arena - 15

Sheffield, Motorpoint Arena - 17

Birmingham, LG Arena - 19

Tickets go on general sale from 9am on Friday 29 July
