Gary Barlow has announced details of two solo gigs, his first in more than 10 years.

The singer, who is a judge on ITV's The X Factor, will perform two charity concerts at London's Royal Albert Hall on 5 and 6 December.

It's been 11 years since Barlow played shows billed as his own.

Tickets for the gigs go on sale on Friday 28 October with proceeds from the tickets going to the Prince's Trust.

The 40-year-old is also helping to organise the Children In Need Rocks gig in Manchester next month, where he is expected to perform alongside Lady Gaga and Coldplay.

Four of the original five members of Take That re-formed in 2005.

Robbie Williams rejoined in 2010 with the band playing their first full tour together in 16 years.

They broke the record for the highest-grossing concert series with their Progress tour.

Barlow has appeared at events without his Take That bandmates in that time.

In September, Barlow stepped in to perform at a BBC Radio 2's Live In Hyde Park after headliner Lionel Richie was forced to pull out.

Last week, Robbie Williams announced that he would return with a new solo album in autumn 2012 released via his new record label Universal.
