Lady Gaga has said Amy Winehouse will be remembered as a "musical legend".
The US star has paid tribute to Winehouse saying she "loved and worshipped" the singer, describing her as "amazing".
Gaga spoke as Amy Winehouse's Back To Black album is celebrated as part of Zane Lowe's Masterpieces on Radio 1.
She said: "It's interesting that celebrities sometimes get such a bad rap for being sad but in truth Amy was incredible at singing the blues."
Lady Gaga singled out the title track on Winehouse's 2006 album as her favourite track.
She told Newsbeat: "I think her more sombre tunes made her amazing. She lived the blues, she lived jazz, she'll always be remembered as a legend."
The 27-year-old was found dead at her home in Camden, north London, on 23 July following years of alcohol and drug addiction.
In October, a verdict of misadventure was recorded into the singer's death after an inquest heard she was more than five times the drink-drive limit.
Zane Lowe's Amy Winehouse Back To Black special is to be broadcast on BBC Radio 1 at 7pm on 22 November.
