There could be more Twilight films after Breaking Dawn Part 2, says the studio that owns the franchise.

Breaking Dawn is the last of four books and has been split in two, with the final part due out in November.

But the boss of Lionsgate films, Jon Feltheimer, has hinted that the money-spinning films could carry on - even without a new book.

"It's hard for me to imagine a movie that does $700m-plus doesn't have ongoing value," he told the LA Times, external.

"It's an amazing franchise that they have done a great job of maintaining with absolutely no deterioration. So the simple answer is 'boy I hope so.'"

Last week, Lionsgate bought Summit Entertainment - the studio behind the films - for $412m (£269m).

It could prove a good investment, with Feltheimer predicting the final Breaking Dawn will take more than $700m (£457m) at the worldwide box office.

A Twilight TV series has also been rumoured, and asked whether that was a possibility, the studio boss replied: "I would certainly hope so."

Stephanie Meyer's first book was brought to the big screen in November 2008 and made household names out of the likes of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.

The two actors also recently topped a list of Hollywood's most bankable stars.
