Biffy Clyro, Soundgarden and Chase & Status are among the latest wave of bands announced for the Download festival.
The additions to the line-up were revealed by Radio 1 DJs Zane Lowe and Daniel P. Carter on Monday evening.
Other acts set to play at Donington Park include Tenacious D, You Me At Six and Machine Head.
The Prodigy, Metallica and Black Sabbath had already been announced as headliners for the June festival.
New additions
Speaking to Zane Lowe, Biffy's front man Simon Neil said Metallica had asked them to play Download.
"We did a couple of shows in India with them. It's very surreal, we're looking forward to it," said Neil.
"We've got a couple of good shows over the summer but Download's particularly exciting."
The band are set to play before the rock legends on the middle day of the festival [Saturday 9 June].
Biffy were on the same bill as Metallica at last year's Sonisphere festival, but played on different days.
Grunge-era band Soundgarden are another of the new additions to Download.
The performance, before headliners Black Sabbath, will be their first live gig in the UK since 1996.
Other names announced are dubstep duo Chase & Status, Tenacious D, fronted by actor Jack Black, Trivium and Ugly Kid Joe.
The Leicestershire-based festival takes place from 8-10 June.
Last year's headliners were Def Leppard, System of a Down and Linkin Park.
