Mumford & Sons want to work closely with getting local people involved in shows

Mumford & Sons have announced details of a new tour this summer, including two mini festivals.

The tour will kick off in Cardiff in May. The one-day festivals take place in Huddersfield and Galway in June.

The mini-festivals have been called The Gentlemen of the Road Stopover and will feature support from The Vaccines.

The rest of the tour is set to visit smaller venues in places such as Lowestoft and Folkestone.

Mumford & Sons said: "We want to stop off in towns not usually heavily toured by bands."

They say the aim of the mini-festivals is to involve local communities.

The band want local bars and venues to be used for the aftershow parties, whilst they work closely to get the community involved in making these shows "spectacular".

"The vibe falls somewhere between travelling Victorian circus and Victorian travelling circus."

The band released their debut album, Sigh No More, in 2009. It's sold more than a million copies in the UK so far.
