Peaches Geldof gives birth to son and names him Astala

Peaches Geldof's fiance Thomas Cohen is in London band S.C.U.M.

TV presenter Peaches Geldof has given birth to a son.

The daughter of poverty campaigner Bob Geldof and the late Paula Yates has named her first child Astala.

The model, 23, announced the birth on social networking site Twitter, writing: "Yes, its true- I'M A MUMMY!!!!

"My little boy is the most beautiful thing in this world. When he holds @tomfromscum's finger with his hand its the sweetest thing ever. X"

Thomas Cohen, Peaches's fiance and lead singer of band S.C.U.M., is the child's father.

Peaches's publicist Max Dundas confirmed the new arrival, saying: "Peaches and Thomas are delighted to announce the birth of their son Astala.

"Both were overjoyed at his arrival this week."

Peaches Geldof divorced rock musician Max Drummey in 2009 after a six-month marriage.

They tied the knot in secret in Las Vegas.

She has presented a number of TV programmes including Peaches Geldof: Teenage Mind and A Beginner's Guide To Islam.
