Example on the bill for Radio 1's Olympic Torch party

Example, Jaguar Skills and Eric Prydz are on the line-up for a special Radio 1 party to mark the arrival of the Olympic torch in the UK.

Thousands of people will get to go the event in Devon.

It will also feature Radio 1's Chris Moyles, Danny Howard, Fearne Cotton, Zane Lowe, Mistajam, Annie Mac and Pete Tong.

The event for 8,500 people in Paignton is on Saturday (19 May) between 4-11pm and the Olympic Torch will be there.

Either Chris Moyles or Fearne Cotton will carry it on stage depending on who wins their evening Soundclash.

Jason Carter, Radio 1 event director, said: "Radio 1 are very excited to finally be returning to the south coast.

"We have a great summer of events for this really special Olympic year for the UK and are delighted to be launching our summer in Torbay with such a great DJ line-up."

Gordon Oliver, Torbay's Mayor and leader, added: "Torbay is extremely pleased to welcome Radio 1 to Torbay.

"This prestigious event gives our local young people the opportunity to enjoy a high profile national music event on their doorstep.

"It will also generate a large amount of great coverage for the area and will have a positive direct economic impact."

Radio 1 will then continue to follow the Olympic Torch around the UK.

Chris Moyles will broadcast from various destinations on the route across England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales before ending up in London for the start of the Olympics on 27 July.

The Radio 1 Olympic Torch tour will continue in Aberystwyth on Monday 28 May.

Radio 1 will be live from Torbay on Saturday 19 May from 4pm to 11pm and will be streaming live online from 6pm.
