Former Footballers Wives star Gary Lucy is joining EastEnders.
He's set to play a charismatic city banker starting in September.
The Essex-born actor will take on the role of trouble-maker Danny Pennant in the BBC One soap. Lucy made his breakthrough in Channel 4's Hollyoaks.
He spent three years playing a character called Luke Morgan in the Chester-based show and won best newcomer at the soap awards following a ground-breaking storyline.
Lucy, who played a rape victim in the soap, later joined The Bill taking on the part of Will Fletcher for five years.
The Bill finished back in 2010 following 26 years on ITV.
It's thought his character will be heading for trouble in Albert Square.
A statement from the show said: "With his irresistible charm and luring persona, Danny is desired and envied by both men and women - girls want to be seen with him and boys want to be him."
It's been a quiet couple years for the actor.
In 2010 Lucy had a brief role in TV series The Missing and then took part in the fifth series of Dancing on Ice. The show was won by Hayley Tamaddon.
Bosses for the soap aren't giving away yet how long the new character will be in EastEnders.
