Peep Show star Robert Webb says more episodes of the show are already in the pipeline after series eight is shown later this year.

The programme, which also stars Webb's comedy partner David Mitchell, began in 2002 and is now the longest running sitcom on Channel 4.

The 39-year-old says he can't believe it's been running for 10 years

He said: "It makes me feel incredibly old. None of us had the first clue it would last so long."

'Go out on a high'

Filming for series eight has already started and the first episode is due to appear on screens sometime in the autumn.

Webb denies feeling any pressure about keeping the series funny.

He said: "I think the pressure really is on the writers Jesse Armstrong and Sam Bain.

"They work so hard and are so brilliant. I always say my favourite series of Peep Show is the most recent one, because the scripts just get better.

"All four of us have said we want to do it as long as we're welcome and as long as it's still good.

"We want to go out on a high, we don't want there to be a limping last series but I think this one is going to be brilliant.

"There is an informal commission for another series on Channel Four next year."
