Ricky Hatton has announced his comeback fight against 35-year-old Ukrainian Vyacheslav Senchenko.

The boxer confirmed his first bout since coming out of retirement would be on 24 November at the Manchester Arena.

It will be the first time the boxer has been in the ring since his defeat against Manny Pacquiao in 2009.

The loss sent the boxer, who calls himself The Hit Man, into a spiral of drink, drugs and depression.

"I've had no end of personal problems since my defeat," he said.

"I suffered from depression and I was obviously suicidal. So people need to just revaluate the reasons why I am coming back."

His upcoming opponent, Vyacheslav Senchenko, is a former world welterweight champion who lost his belt earlier this year when he suffered a first career loss in 33 outings against Paulie Malignaggi - a man Hatton has previously beaten.

The 33-year-old said: "I'm great in shape at the moment which is fantastic, as three to four months ago I was in a massively round shape. I have never ever been in this shape.

"British sport is going through a big boost at the minute. So there is no fitter time for me to bounce back."
