Jay-Z is to stream the last of eight gigs he's performing at the new home of basketball team Brooklyn Nets live.

The concert, from the Barclays Centre, is to launch the rapper's new YouTube channel, Life and Times.

The show will be broadcast on 6 October at 9.30pm local time (2.30am in the UK).

Life and Times promises "in depth lifestyle pieces" based on the tastes and interests of Jay-Z and is an off-shoot of his website, external of the same name.

The hip hop star has been playing a series of gigs at the Barclays Centre to mark the basketball team's relocation from New Jersey to its new home in Brooklyn.

Jay-Z is a minority owner of the team.

The new $1 billion (£620m) arena features 19,000 seats and a court side club for VIPs.

It also boasts a three-storey HD scoreboard, one of the biggest in the NBA.
