Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel marry in Italy

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel have married at a ceremony in Italy.

The pair were rumoured to have been joined by members of his former group 'N Sync.

In a statement the couple said: "It's great to be married, the ceremony was beautiful and it was so special to be surrounded by our family and friends."

Justin Timberlake, 31, had been dating 30-year-old Jessica Biel for several years and they got engaged last December.

They kept details of their wedding ceremony secret from the press.

Borgo Egnazia

In the past Justin Timberlake has had relationships with pop star Britney Spears and actress Cameron Diaz.

Jessica Biel formerly dated former co-star Chris Evans.

Although the media was kept away from the ceremony at the sea resort of Borgo Egnazia in southern Italy, it is thought that the couple have sold exclusive photographs to a US magazine.

Most recently Jessica Biel has appeared in Total Recall with Colin Farrell and will star in Hitchcock, about the movie director Alfred Hitchcock.

Justin Timberlake has been focusing on acting since releasing his last solo album FutureSex/LoveSounds in 2006.

He appeared in In Time and Friends With Benefits last year and is due to feature in upcoming baseball film, The Trouble With the Curve.
